Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between fit and fill?

Fit scales the whole image so it sits inside the box you entered, so nothing is cropped and the final size may be smaller than requested. Fill covers the entire box and trims whatever hangs over the edges.

Can I resize and compress at the same time?

Yes. Enter your dimensions, keep the target file size switch on, and the image is resized first and then compressed to that limit.

Does resizing reduce quality?

Scaling down is high quality because the browser averages neighbouring pixels. Scaling up cannot invent detail, so avoid entering dimensions larger than the original.

Can I resize many images to the same size?

Yes. Add the whole batch, set one width and height, and every file is processed with the same rules.
